Backpacked to S.K.~

Harlo. long time since I'm writing.
Just started my final year final sem.
Again, hectic life begins.

But, before this, I'm really happy for having the chance to visit Seoul.

Mainly South Korea is full of high rise buildings which is almost like in KL.
And a lot of rivers too.
Watching from the plane, I'm so excited before we're landed.

The buildings design are all very unique.
Even small houses are also designed very beautifully.
Everywhere I can see flowers. I liked it. ^^

On the first day, after check in, we have a walk around Hongdae Hongik University area.
Lots of shops, people, and the culture are totally different.
Their night life are so active.
There are lots of youngsters bringing guitar and singing just by the road and violin too.

And different thing is the gates or historical places are all in the middle of high rise buildings.
Seeeee~

This is Namdaemun (南大门)that we visit on the 2nd day.
So hard to find the building as it is hide among the high rise buildings. haha.
And around that area are a few streets for shopping.
After ate lunch, we head to LOTTE mart before going to Seoul Tower.

Planned to watch sunset from the tower but the haze makes it all blur.

And then, we headed back.
Korea dinner always come with side dishes. dang dang dang!
haha. and its free of charges plus free refillable.
My friend missed them very much after he came back.

And the 3rd day, we visited the hanok village at Namsagol.
They are holding a lot of hands on experience for their culture as Cheoseok (thanksgiving) festival is approaching.
For example, letting people to try on doing rice cake, explaining the food that are used, and try on traditional way of beating clothes to straighten them.
The lil boy is so cute in his traditional costume.
Then, we saw the place where they will do their sauce every year before winter.
A lot of jars~
And we observed how they make straw slippers.
They also let people try on their traditional game which I found quite similar like our sepak takraw. =P
In the afternoon, we went to Myeong Dung street where our group are divided into two.
One went for Nanta show and one went shopping.
We even saw artists performing at the street, but sorry I don't know them.
Seldom got time to spent on KPOP.
And finally is dinner.
I don't understand why in English its written as "pork leg soup" but in chinese its written as 醒酒 something. haha. But, there is no pork leg in the soup.
And its spicy. >.<
Too bad I'm not a spicy-lover so I don't quite like food in Korea except the light snacks and seaweed soups. hehe.

4th day coming up, its their thanksgiving festival.
Nearly all shopping areas closed. =(
We decided to head for trick eye museum.
This is one of the photo I taken. haha.
Tourist from Taiwan. They acted so true.
Then, we go to ice museum before we headed for lunch.
After lunch, we had a short rest and visited Jongno, Insadong and Cheongyeong stream area.
somehow I found something I loved to eat there.
Bibimbap with baby octopus~ =D

sorry, not much photo taken during night because my camera requires solar power.
hahaha.
I was joking. my camera can't take nice picture at night. XD

5th day: Tour at Geungbukgung (景福宫) and Shopping at Insadong
Went to the underground exhibition room to understand the beginning of Hanggul.
Then, we went for lunch where I got my Udon. hehe.
After that, we went to the palace for the tour.
Too bad the Guard changing ceremony was cancelled due to excessive crowds in the palace square. =(
And so many people lining up for tickets due to its a holiday. wuwuwu~
But, we managed to get our tickets in less than half hour due to the efficiency of Koreans.
When will Malaysia achieve this same kind of efficiency. I will look forward for it. hehe.
The palace is so beautiful. Colourful roof. Green gardens and peaceful lakes.

And the sky, water and ground all have guardians/statues that they believe will protect the King.

So peaceful~ ^^
After the long journey walking in a gigantic palace, we head for a feast! =D
Then we have Walking stick ice cream at Insadong.
And dumplings where I found kimchi in it. Hot hot spicy! >.<

On the 6th day, we went for tour at two palaces and secret garden (Huwon).
At night time, we head to Dongdaemun (东大门).
A really nice place for shopping.
Cheap & pretty clothes, shoes, caps, accessories, you name it. haha.
But, not in the mood of shopping.
So, I didnt bought anything except a red bean snack.
Filling my stomach everywhere I go. haha

7th day, its a Sunday. Ruth & I went to a Catholic church in Myeong Dung as it is in English.
Then, we met up with Lok's friend for lunch, short walk at Buchon Hanok Village and teatime.

Cuppucino.

After bidding goodbye to Hyun Woo, we went to EWHA University Area.
Their University is so pretty. With a church on top of the hill. ^^
Last dinner in Korea, we head for BBQ buffet.
And the shop got dog-meat. Ewww.
I dare not try.
Feel so cruel. x.X

And finally, we arriving the end of our journey.
We had a very full lunch at the shop we ate on the first meal in Seoul.
It's so yummy that I heed for second bowl of seaweed soup. haha.
With that, it marks the end of our adventure to Seoul. =)
my own handmade Korea souvenir.
p/s: i know I'm not talented in paintings. @.@
