CNY preparations

There's so much things to do.
Last week, cushion covers all are washed and dried, cushions are vacuumed, refrigerators are wiped, kitchen exhaust fan cleaned, car porch is swept and balcony was washed but upstairs still got 2 balconies haven't scrub yet.
Daddy was busy wiping the walls inside the house and doors too.
This week, I was busy with cleaning stove, vacuuming carpet, brushing and washing nettings and wiped window grill where daddy wiping the windows. Finished 2 sets of them.
Still got lots to do.

Last week and this week were really a busy week.
Last last Saturday where me and my sister start baking momo cookies.
I'm still curious how momo cookies can be so soft but ours a bit hard. >.<
Still need to do some trials on it. hehe.

It's so nice to have my sister in the kitchen helping up.
She seldom helped in the kitchen.
The thing I like bout CNY the most is family participation in preparation.
When everyone was doing things together, can feel the support there.

Then, Saturday night is busy with baking my Martell fruit cake.
First time baking this myself.
Actually should put X.O. but I don't know where's my mom put the X.O.
So i tried it on Martell. Not bad also. Still, i missed the fruit cakes baked by my mom the most.
So, here it is, out of oven. voilà~

Fruit cake is the easiest cake to bake. No layers.
But, it requires time for the alcohol to seep into the fruits to make it tastier.
So, it's first in the list of my cakes-to-bake. =D

Thanks God Thursday is a public holiday. I can fully utilized it.
Was baking Cadbury choc cookies with my sis in the afternoon.
We were laughing so badly because I say the cookies look like poops before baking. Haha.

Done with 4 containers but one already finished by my sis in 1 week. haha.
Other three are under surveillance! =P or else it will be emptied before CNY.

Thursday night was busy baking Horlick Coffee layers.
The hardest or can be said took the longest time is to beat and wait until the sugar + butter turns white and fluffy. It requires a lot of patience, in which I think I don't quite have it. XD

First time I can see the layers clearly. Did you notice anything? Hahaha.
I was as blur as usual. Spotted, one of it having horlick, coffee, coffee, horlick. LOL.
Never mind, it's still edible. haha.

Last Saturday was not baking as I was working.
So, left Haw flakes layers to be baked this weekend.
Hopefully, it will turn out well. heeee.

Besides all those preparations, I feel like not excited for CNY 拜年 anymore.
Is it a sign of getting old? I hope not. haha.
I think that's all for now.
Supposed to be doing my report but ended up here. haha.
Okay, gotta continue to busy~
Have a nice day, peeps. =)

Socialize?

Can you guess what i did yesterday? Haha.
Actually, another trainee and i was waiting for the meeting to start at 1.30pm in the office building.
Because after lunch, we don't want to walk all the way back to workstation and come all the way back to office in just half an hour time.
So, we thought of following an uncle who will be going to the meeting too.
And I'm still curious bout a procedure so was going to ask bout that.
He went smoking so we ended up loitering around the office waiting.

Suddenly, boss walking out on the way to pantry with his lunchbox.
Boss: "Hi, how are you?"
I: "Fine. thanks."
Boss: "Are you looking for me?"
I: "Nope."
Boss: "Ok"
Then, he went to the pantry.

My friend was like shocked. How can I answered so directly "nope".
Haha. My bad.
She said I should have say yes and maybe having a short chat or what.
But, I think maybe I'm just too frank. Or sometimes not socialize enough.

When I went home and told my dad, he was laughing at me.
He said that its time for me to learn to be more socialize a bit.
Socialize is still a hard thingy for me. haha. But, its a new challenge I take. =)

p/s: Saw an interesting email from my aunt. Haha.
I will keep reminding myself bout this. thanks. ^^

Be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving each other,
just as in Christ God forgave you.

13-01-13

Today, not feeling well.
I remember something told by an uncle at my workplace.
"You shouldn't blame the weather for getting sick, blame yourself for not ready for the weather."
I will remember that. To be more ready next time. hehe.
Thanks God that I'm not sick on weekdays, but weekend. =)

There are great things too today.
I finally got my feet into McD in Bintulu. wohooo~ XD
But, the happiest moment is the sermon today in Sunday service.
I really like the sermon by our pastor today.
Maybe because I like that book.
I still remember my dad read that chapter in Ecclesiastes on the morning of CNY 1st day last year.
Its a good book that remind us on our purpose of life on Earth.

But, today I just got to know that most of the scholars says the book was written by King Solomon.
I had always feel the writer was a person who had great wisdom and knowledge.
He write it as he had seen a lot in life.
Pastor asked today, "If God asked you today what do you want? What will be your answer?"
King Solomon asked for wisdom. How bout u?
Here is a part of the book. Enjoy~

Everything is Meaningless
The words of the teacher, son of David, King in Jerusalem:

"Meaningless! Meaningless!" says the teacher.
"Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless."
What do people gain from all their labors at which they toil under the sun?
Generations come and generations go,
but the earth remains forever.
The sun rises and the sun sets,
and hurries back to where it rises.
The wind blows to the south and turns to the north;
round and round it goes,
ever returning on its course.
All streams flow into the sea,
yet the sea is never full.
To the place the streams come from,
there they return again.
All things are wearisome,
more than one can say.
The eye never has enough of seeing,
nor the ear its fill of hearing.
What has been will be again,
what has been done will be done again;
there is nothing new under the sun.
Is there anything of which one can say.
"Look! This is something new"?
It was here already, long ago;
it was here before our time.
No one remembers the former generations,
and even those yet to come will not be remembered by those who follow them.

Wisdom is meaningless
I, the teacher, was king over Israel in Jerusalem. I applied my mind to study and to explore by wisdom all that is done under the heavens. What a heavy burden God has laid on mankind! I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

What is crooked cannot be straightened;
what is lacking cannot be counted.

I said to myself, "Look, I have increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but i learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.

For with much wisdom comes much sorrow;
the more knowledge, the more grief.

self-motivation = basic self-maintenance

It's Saturday morning, it's time for non-technical things. hehe.
Today, I read a chapter on winning principle: winners motivate themselves!
Nice one. Of course everyone wants to be a winner in his/her life, right?
For me, winning is not like to be first to reach the place.
But, I set my goals of how I want to be and want to achieve my own personal achievement.
But, really, how to achieve the goal? how to win over yourself (improve)?
I found this useful. So, here it is.

The essential 16 to boost our motivational level suggested by Nicki Joy:

  1. When you're getting ready to work in the morning, fill your environment with music that makes you want to dance.
  2. Start collecting motivational sayings, platitudes or quotes that are meaningful to you.
  3. When you walk around, make a conscious effort to move more vigorously swing your arms and if you can, hum a tune.
  4. Deliver a genuine compliment to someone everyday.
  5. Monitor your me-mail. (not e-mail) Monitor what you say when you talk to yourself.
  6. Always be in process of learning something new.
  7. Force yourself to smile as broadly as you can even before open your eyes in the morning.
  8. Start getting into the habit of dealing with the most stressful things early as possible each day.
  9. Work to avoid gossiping, bad-mouthing, blaming or complaining.
  10. Force yourself to be enthusiastic.
  11. Recognize when you're in a bad mood and then make a conscious effort to turn it around.
  12. Exercise the process of consequentiality.
  13. Make a list of 10 things you most enjoy doing.
  14. Examine the negative forces in your life and do everything in your power to eliminate them.
  15. Change your 'if' language to 'when' language.
  16. Check your goals and understand that if one goal area of your life is lagging or faltering, you can concentrate, for now, on getting closer to achieving success in another goal area.
I think I'm starting to like this book. It's practical. True.
I did most of them daily without noticing those small small things do motivate me in real life.
I will try to implant them in my daily life. Gambateh!
Hope this short sharing will helps you when you're reading this too.
Have a nice day ahead! =)

Stop

Tonight, no mood to do readings or assignment.
Already read so many nights on the same thing.
But I still can't understand how reboiler works! @~@

Feel like want to keep walking. Stress.
Just like what I usual do - walking rounds and rounds in UTP.
That's why I never let myself being stressed.
Or else will turn out to be like this. Abnormal.
I just wish time can turn back to when I was still a kid.
Assignment ah~ Please treat me nicely, ok? hehe. =P

Since I can't think of anything tonight, so its time for a break. Haha.
Tonight's I'm letting myself off! yippeee.

Rewarding myself with a cup of coffee. I know I shouldn't. XD
Then, listening to music, which I had not did for a long time.
Watching TV on Merlin with my sister.
Teaching her Add Maths & got in a silent between us.
I think that's why I'm not suitable to teach.
Not good in explaining or expressing what I am thinking.
Haiz. Fail.
This is just me. =X

Trying out a new game in FB - Diamond Dash.
Not bad. Quite simple game.
But, not too much, or else later my game list will overload. Hehe.
At last,
not very good in it.
But, I enjoyed it. That's what kids do, right. Haha.

Need to find place to stick all those motivations to keep me going.
Just suddenly missed my notice board in UTP. Hehe.

Okay, enough of escape-ing.
Need to buckle up, tomorrow. Aza Aza fighting!
Gambateh! You can do it!
Tomorrow will be a better day, cheer up!
Oyasumi nasai ~ =)

Special Christmas 2012

Hi. Was so long since i got time to sit down and look at my blog.
After the short holiday break, things go back to usual. busy.
Okay, coming back to today's update on how was my Christmas in 2012.

My family and i went to Kuching.
It's a great reunion with my grandma & aunties & cute lil cousin.
It's a short but memorable trip.
Especially my lil cousin. she likes to hug me & stick with me.
Everywhere we go, we are in same car, walk together, shop together, go toilet together, eat together. =D
She's so cute. Think of it, I really miss her. a lot.

She called last few days but as usual I am not very good in talking through phone. it a weird thingy. haha.
At first, was like what to say but, we managed to chat til very long.
This Saturday going to skype with her. *excited*

Shopping in kuching was so nice.
A lot better than Bintulu.
It is really hard if want to resist from shopping there.
Got lots of choices and not to forget promotions too.
And the christmas decorations at the malls are very pretty.
They just cheered me up!
haha. XD

And I like the food there too. My aunt's cooking. I like the fried chicken wings the most. yummy.
Everyday we got soup to drink. So 幸福.
And my aunts also brought us for Christmas Eve dinner at Hoi Tian Law and Christmas Lunch is having buffet at Fourpoint.
Not much photos taken on the food.
Because I am so eager to eat til no time to take pictures. haha. =P
Only took some at Fourpoint.

And the most exciting part,
we three kiddos got Christmas presents!
From my aunties. Hehe.
Really thankful of that.

But, the most important thing on Christmas is our Lord Jesus.
Nevertheless, we went for christmas service at a nearby church.
Christmas was full of Hope, Love, Joy & Peace in His presence.

Besides, we also had our annual family movie time. At star.
Last time we watched Lord of the rings.
This time is Hobbit: an unexpected adventure.
Some of the creatures are scary. Both me & my cousin don't dare to watch. hehe. I am as timid as a child. XP

Nice time always passed real fast.
It came to the end of the trip in a glimpse.
Thanks to my aunty that she woke up very early & take away Kuching laksa for our breakfast before our 9am flight.
And departing back to Bintulu with Kuching's roast duck! yum yum.
hehe.

Lastly, blessed & happy 2013 to all!
