self-motivation = basic self-maintenance

It's Saturday morning, it's time for non-technical things. hehe.
Today, I read a chapter on winning principle: winners motivate themselves!
Nice one. Of course everyone wants to be a winner in his/her life, right?
For me, winning is not like to be first to reach the place.
But, I set my goals of how I want to be and want to achieve my own personal achievement.
But, really, how to achieve the goal? how to win over yourself (improve)?
I found this useful. So, here it is.

The essential 16 to boost our motivational level suggested by Nicki Joy:

  1. When you're getting ready to work in the morning, fill your environment with music that makes you want to dance.
  2. Start collecting motivational sayings, platitudes or quotes that are meaningful to you.
  3. When you walk around, make a conscious effort to move more vigorously swing your arms and if you can, hum a tune.
  4. Deliver a genuine compliment to someone everyday.
  5. Monitor your me-mail. (not e-mail) Monitor what you say when you talk to yourself.
  6. Always be in process of learning something new.
  7. Force yourself to smile as broadly as you can even before open your eyes in the morning.
  8. Start getting into the habit of dealing with the most stressful things early as possible each day.
  9. Work to avoid gossiping, bad-mouthing, blaming or complaining.
  10. Force yourself to be enthusiastic.
  11. Recognize when you're in a bad mood and then make a conscious effort to turn it around.
  12. Exercise the process of consequentiality.
  13. Make a list of 10 things you most enjoy doing.
  14. Examine the negative forces in your life and do everything in your power to eliminate them.
  15. Change your 'if' language to 'when' language.
  16. Check your goals and understand that if one goal area of your life is lagging or faltering, you can concentrate, for now, on getting closer to achieving success in another goal area.
I think I'm starting to like this book. It's practical. True.
I did most of them daily without noticing those small small things do motivate me in real life.
I will try to implant them in my daily life. Gambateh!
Hope this short sharing will helps you when you're reading this too.
Have a nice day ahead! =)
